He inherited personal effects and money from his Aunt, Margaret Blyth on 14 Jul 1843. William had died by the time his Aunts will was proved. There was a clause in her will that, if this was the case then, all her residuary property and effects should be split between Williams surviving children. His Will was proved on 14 Sep 1843. He was a farmer. 1843: In his will William described himself as a Farmer and Cattle Salesman.

He was married to Frances TABRUM (daughter of Robert TABRUM and Frances SALMON) on 23 Jan 1810 in Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey. Frances TABRUM was born in 1788 in Rochford, Essex. She was made Executor to the will of her husband, William Blyth, on 19 Jan 1843. She inherited all of her husbands estate and effects on 14 Sep 1843. She died on 25 Oct 1860 in Aboard ship, 'Lord Raglan'. The obituary showed that Frances died after 6 weeks of intermittent fever. She was the widow of William Blyth, late of Mersea. Her Will was proved on 15 May 1861. Her estate was valued under £100. She was buried in Cape Town, South Africa. Frances was living in Colchester before she emmigrated.
